Battersby Island is situated in or near The Brock Group and lies northeast, or downriver, of De Rottenburg Island.

Administratively, Battersby Island is part of the municipality of Elizabethtown-Kitley, which is within the County of Leeds and Grenville, in the province of Ontario. The Thousand Islands region, where the island is located, is known for its scenic beauty and numerous small islands, forming part of the St. Lawrence River, which serves as a natural border between Canada and the United States.
